Here's a Formula One car that will always come out tops. The Royal Plaza on Scotts hotel unveiled earlier this week the world's first life-sized race car made out of bottle caps - more than 20,000 in total. To celebrate Singapore's ninth year as a Grand Prix host, the hotel's chefs - in collaboration with Coca-Cola - put in almost 1,100 hours to glue the tops to a wood skeleton. The car, which sports red and white colours for its launch on National Day, will be placed beside a donation box. All proceeds will go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, which supports more than 140,000 children and young people with their school-related expenses. To encourage the public to donate generously, the hotel will match the total amount of funds raised dollar for dollar. The race car will be on display at the hotel until Sept 18.
