Chairman of the Ee Hoe Hean Club Francis Ko (far left) presenting a cheque for $50,000 to Ms Tan Bee Heong, general manager of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF), after a charity golf tournament yesterday.
With them are guest of honour Chua Thian Poh (second from left), who is chief executive officer and chairman of Ho Bee Group, and Eurokars Group executive chairman Karsono Kwee. Charity Golf Tournament 2018, organised by Ee Hoe Hean Club, took place yesterday at the Singapore Island Country Club.
Mr Ko said the club hoped to promote the spirit of giving through the event.
It chose the STSPMF as the beneficiary for the event in hopes of raising its profile among the non-Mandarin- speaking community.
Event partner Rolls-Royce sponsored the tournament, including a hole-in-one prize of a $1.5 million Rolls-Royce Ghost limousine.
However, no one won the car. The Ee Hoe Hean Club, founded in 1895, is one of the oldest millionaire clubs in Singapore.
Past members included businessmen and philanthropists Tan Kah Kee and Gan Eng Seng.
